Bandwidth patch instructions.
==============================================================================
If you do not yet have the Bandwidth patch on your GPL installation, here is a
quick start guide for those of you who are "Readme Challenged" :)

1. Go to your GPL directory and make a backup of the files GPL.exe and
Core.ini

2. Go to Bart Westra's GPL Garage:
    http://www.xs4all.nl/~westrab/gpl.htm

and download the Bandwidth Patch:
    http://www.xs4all.nl/~westrab/bwpatch.zip

3. Unzip the bwpatch.zip file into your GPL directory and execute the file
"bwpatch.exe". The last 3 lines on the command window should say:

    Patch status:
    1. More cars patch : Not applied
    2. Cars behind patch : Not applied
    Enter patch number to apply/remove or x to exit

Press 1 and hit enter.
This will change the display to say:

    Patch status:
    1. More cars patch : Applied
    2. Cars behind patch : Not applied
    Enter patch number to apply/remove or x to exit

Hit "x" to exit.

4. Open up your Core.ini file and edit the following settings:

    [ Communications ]
    net_mdm_client_send_every = 3
    net_mdm_client_send_size = 84
    net_mdm_server_send_every = 3
    net_mdm_server_send_size = 384    ; show 19 cars
    net_use_mdm_bandwidth_for_tcp_ip = 1

(You will most likely only have to edit the "net_mdm_server_send_size = 384"
entry.)

5. if you are using GEM+2 (most likely given we race the '65 cars) remember
    you need to force it to regenerate all the relevant GPL???.exe files, now
    that the patch has been applied to the original GPL.exe.
    Simply delete all the additional GPL???.exe files (or better still, move
    them to another directory) and start GEM+2. The program should
    automatically regenerate all the necessary executables.

That's it!

Now, when joining a server through WinVROC, you will be able to see however
many cars are sent out by the server without having to change anything.

IMPORTANT: make sure that when joining a race, you have set "use core.ini"
for the Bandwidth setting in the advanced tab of the "Join Race" panel.
(This should be the default).

If you have any problems you could always try to read the Readme files
included with the patch. If it still fails, ask away.
